| For the second and third time this year, positive HIV tests take center stage in the porn world. After a few months of on again off again retirement plans, Brooke Ashley has now officially called it quits after testing positive for the virus. I have scheduled an interview with Brooke for later this week, so with any luck, there will be more to say on this at that time. In the meantime, prayers and best wishes to Brooke in whatever she decides to do from here.
The second confirmed case of HIV comes from Europe. New starlet, Caroline. As if this news were not bad enough, her case created a great deal of alarm thanks to some premature rumors. To clear things up, US starlet Carolina is NOT HIV positive. As if this little bit of name confusion were not enough, more confusion with Caroline's name caused many people in and around the industry to jump to the conclusion that Kaitlyn Ashley had tested positive. This rumor was quickly put to rest and later reports confirmed that Kaitlyn is healthy and living quite happily in Tennessee.
In another HIV related rumor, which has been proven at best false, at worst, intentionally malicious, had veteran porn stud Marc Wallice not only testing positive, but knowingly working in that condition. Hopefully, this terrible situation will keep future rumors from spreading so quickly.
OK, how about some non HIV news. Even as Extreme Associates rolls their first tapes off the production line, Patrick Collins is hard at work filling the void left by his top directors. So far, his biggest coup has been to lure Sean Michaels in for an exclusive deal which covers not only directing but performing as well. Sean will join the Elegant team along with new contract girl Jessica Darling.
With all this going on, let's not forget the lineup Sin City has put together. James DiGiorgio, Johnny Toxic, David Christopher and Kris Kramski have been joined by legendary erotic film director Lasse Braun. Look for lots of high glossy, sexy features from the Sin City label this summer.
Some early names being tossed around for Best New Starlet of 1998 would include the aforementioned Jessica Darling, Inari has made a big splash in a very short period of time. Of course, three of the top contenders for that title all come from the same small, exclusive group know as the Tushy Girls. Seymore Butts' trio of tasty treats, Alisha Klass, Samantha Stylle and Halli Ashton have set the porn world on fire. My money is one of these three girls to take the title.
Brittany O'Connell also performs live on her site twice a month, with other shows in between. Her site is just ten bucks a month and the show I watched lasted nearly three hours. She usually brings in new girls to play with, but occasionally does boy/girl as well. (Still waiting to see if she will don her cheerleader uniform for a special show.)
Finally, for those of you who were asking, Xplor has told me that the two scenes I shot will be in a tape called "New Pink" and should be out next month with one of the girls on the cover. Why do I think a few porn directors will be grabbing this video, taking copious notes and gutting me publicly. (Just remember, paybacks to paybacks can be a double bitch!)
